About

Our Story —

It was in 1999 that the Frutig’s purchased an old Farm on the West side of Ann Arbor where they would raise their children and give them the country life. On site were two historical barns; one built around 1860 and the other built at the turn of the century.  It was after their daughters wedding in 2009, that Kelly had the idea of offering the farm for weddings. With the encouragement of her family and some local wedding planners, she launched Misty Farm. Within a short time, the word got out and Misty Farm became a top choice for those seeking a natural country setting, close to the heart of Ann Arbor.

After a few years of hosting weddings for families at Misty Farm, Kelly realized that the need was great for unique spaces. Her eyes then were set on a falling down farm just up the street. Kelly spent the next few years restoring and renovating the farm with the help of many talented local craftsmen.  Thus the Valley was born, starting a whole new chapter for Frutig Farms.

The Frutig Family has found great pleasure in restoring and preserving the history and craftsmanship of these fine buildings, and we are happy to share them with our community and all who appreciate their magnificence.

Our Spaces —

The Valley is a gorgeous gable roof barn built circa 1875. Over the years the Valley has been serving the needs of the greater Ann Arbor community with weddings, corporate, and charity events.  It has filled a beautiful niche in the Scio Township community and beyond.
