Paragon Properties: Building Community, Celebrating Employees, and Bringing Events to Life
When it comes to creating a company culture that values both its employees and its residents, Paragon Properties stands out as a leader in the Metro Detroit area. With a legacy spanning over 60 years, Paragon is more than just a property management company—they’re a community-driven organization that prioritizes its people.
We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Amy and Galila from Paragon’s leadership team to discuss their experiences, their company’s vision, and their much-anticipated all-teams appreciation event at Frutig Farms.
A Passion for Property Management & People
Amy’s journey in property management began as a leasing consultant, but within six months, she was promoted to manager—a role she quickly fell in love with.
"No two days are the same, and I love being so involved in people’s lives—helping to make things just a little better for them," she shared.
Galila, now Paragon’s Director of Marketing, Learning & Development, started her career in the hospitality industry before transitioning into property management. The shift wasn’t just a career move—it was about finding a company that aligned with her values.
"After working with Paragon, I became a die-hard fan," she said. "We truly care about quality—not just for the communities, but for the people who live and work with us."
This dedication to people-first leadership has contributed to Paragon’s decades of success.
Paragon’s Secret to Success: Prioritizing Quality
Unlike many property management companies that focus solely on the bottom line, Paragon chooses quality over rapid expansion.
"Many companies want to grow quickly, but we choose to grow slowly and intentionally so that we can maintain the level of care and service our residents and teams deserve," Galila explained.
Their commitment to investing in their teams and communities is evident in their focus on training, mentorship, and development. The company follows the Five P’s: Product, People, Price, Promotion, and Process—a philosophy that ensures high standards across every aspect of their business.
Celebrating Team at Frutig Farms
Paragon doesn’t just talk about valuing the people they work with— they show it. Every year, they host a company-wide appreciation event, and this year, they’re bringing it back to Frutig Farms—a venue they first visited in 2016 and never forgot.
"We’ve hosted events at high-end venues like the Renaissance Center, but our team told us they wanted something more relaxed—somewhere they could truly have fun and connect," Amy explained.
Frutig Farms offers the perfect blend of elegance and fun, allowing attendees to enjoy activities ranging from karaoke to poker, all while surrounded by a stunning natural setting.
"The venue has a magical vibe," Amy added. "Even for people who aren’t typically into the ‘country setting,’ it feels comfortable, inviting, and special."
A Culture of Long-Term Commitment
Paragon’s dedication to its employees is clear in the longevity of its team members. Many employees have been with the company for over 30 years, and their event planning partner, Jackie, has been working with them for over a decade.
"We have people from 11 different apartment communities and our corporate office coming together, and this is one of the only times in the year they get to interact like this. It’s about creating moments where they feel valued and connected," Galila shared.
With a beautiful venue, engaging activities, and a team-first mindset, Paragon’s event at Frutig Farms is shaping up to be an unforgettable experience.
Looking Ahead: Paragon’s Future & Advice for Others
As Paragon looks toward 2025, their focus remains on investing in their people and maintaining high standards.
For other companies looking to create meaningful employee appreciation events, Amy and Galila’s advice is simple: listen to your employees and choose a space that encourages connection.
"At the end of the day, it’s not just about throwing an event—it’s about making people feel appreciated," Amy said. "When you invest in your team, you invest in the success of your company."
